Exciting news! I've *technically* become an author. I think...

Hey there!

Wow, it's been a bit since my first blog post. We've had a lot of life happen here in the Shaw household, but I'm back and ready to delight you (hopefully!) with my weird humor and awful jokes. I know, I know, I'm really selling it here. Can you tell I did not take the Masterclass on Blog posts? No really, I didn't. Is there one? I probably need it. Please send links. Hah!

Today I'm popping on at you to tell you about a project I've been working on...well one of them. I'm the type of person that loooooves projects. I really love starting projects. SO much. Too much. Then, I have to reevaluate my entire life and decide which of these fantastic projects gets to be #1, 2, 3, etc. in my queue. Sometimes I have to get rid of a few beautiful ideas, or set them aside for the "future" (we all know this is just the auto-dump trash bin of our brains). That's okay though, it makes me feel less guilty when I say that I'll get to it later. Ahhh self-deception. Such a beautiful thing.

Anyways, I've been working on a coloring book. Yup! A whole dang coloring book. I sat down and decided that I wanted to be a pretend author (or 50% of an author? thoughts?) and I got to drawing things that make me happy. Natural foods, neatly organized in alphabetical order for the coloring delight of young minds. Ultra niche, I know. Just the way I like it, and probably like 9 other people in the world. That's okay though, I'm ready for my tiny group of die-hard Alphabet specific food lovers. Unite!!

Truly though, I wanted to create a book for kiddos that wasn't an in-your-face, I'm-going-to-throw-up-a-unicorn-on-you type of coloring book (absolutely zero shade thrown at that type- my kids LOVE them), I just wanted something different. Slow, easy, detailed, fun, purposeful. I wanted kids to take their time exploring foods they know, and foods that may be new to them. I wanted something that offered a look into the beauty of the foods we eat, in their natural form. When you do something you love, the outcome is always sweeter and this was a project of love for me.

You can check it out on Amazon by clicking here --> Alphabet Market, By Kelsey Shaw. They are independently published by me, and I've attempted to limit the carbon footprint of these books by having them printed and shipped through Amazon. They are printed to order so there is less waste, and by having them shipped direct from the printer, we remove and entire shipping process to myself where they'd have to be repacked with more materials and shipped out again.

I hope you enjoy!

-Kelsey
